Description
Love Sine Quo Non wines? You've got to try Loner... Sanguis wines are made in a converted warehouse in the heart of Santa Barbara's industrial zone (yes, there is one), from the grapes that we grow in the idyl that is called the Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valleys - this juxtaposition is representative of the style of wine that is Sanguis.
As winemaker Matthias Pippig says, "If Sanguis is my playground where anything goes (the ‘maximalist project’), the wines bottled under the new ‘Loner’ designation are as stripped down and minimalistas it gets - from how they are made right down to the labels. ‘The Loners’ are varietal and vineyard-specific wines fermented on their indigenous yeasts with ample inclusion of whole clusters; there is no use of new oak, no racking, and of course no fining or filtration – oh, and they are Burgundianby lineage. What this shares with the rest of the Sanguis wines is that it aims to be singular, expressive and beautiful.
