Description
We've assembled a selection of wines from the years that our children at Las Lomitas and La Entrada were born, 2002-2010. Many of these can no longer be purchased in stores. Get them now while you still can! A perfect gift to save for your child when they turn 21, or a nice bottle for you to celebrate their graduation or other special event.
This item is 1 bottle of 2010 The Mascot Cabernet Sauvignon.
"The Mascot" is a wine conceived by William Harlan Jr., who grew up on one of America's most prestigious wine estates. It's a Cabernet Sauvignon made from the "young vines" of Harlan Estate, Bond, and Promontory.
Of the 2010 Mascot, Will describes "Notes of graphite, cedar, and forest floor are ever-present on the nose. On entry the wine is brought into focus seamlessly through a fine lens of acidity, lending energy and freshness to power and structure. Soft yet supple tannins expand out horizontally on the palate, resolving into an extremely long finish."
Should you be tempted to think that young vines produce lesser produce, remember this: The 1973 Stag's Leap SLV wine that won The Judgment of Paris tasting in 1976 was from its first harvest.
