Description

Winner will receive one bottle each of:

2009 Peter Michael Winery "Ma Belle-Fille" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Hazy yellow. Heady, exotically perfumed bouquet of dried pear, peach pit, candied lemon, iodine and smoky lees, plus a suave floral quality and a touch of anise. Enters rich and weighty but quickly gains tension, offering zesty citrus and orchard fruit flavors and an intense, almost saline mineral underpinning. Finishes smoky and extremely long, with the iodine and pear notes echoing. I find the interplay of richness and minerality to be really intriguing. (6/2011)

2009 Peter Michael Winery "La Carriere" Knights Valley Chardonnay

Stellar, limited production chardonnay.

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, and Wine Spectator

A much more restrained La Carrière, yet rich, detailed and complex, offering a mix of melon, fig, apricot and hazelnut flavors that are elegant, detailed and persistent on the finish. (WS) (6/2011)

2010 Peter Michael Winery "La Carriere" Knights Valley Chardonnay

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2010 Chardonnay La Carriere (1,900 cases produced) was made from a combination of Dijon and Hyde clones. Bursting with honeysuckle, lemon oil, white peach and wet stone characteristics, this full-bodied, rich white possesses great acidity as well as a more backward, austere character than the other two vintages. Something I have noticed with a number of the 2010 Chardonnays is that they have a structural component that should make them very long-lived. This beauty reveals plenty of concentration, so enjoy it over the next decade."
