Description
One week of camp, a pink Starbuck tote bag and two pony t-shirts.
This season marks the 40th year the equestrian farm is offering the SUMMER HORSEMANSHIP PROGRAM, a summer camp for area youngsters. Starbuck Equestrian is located in Ridgefield, Connecticut on one of the area's oldest and most scenic country estates.
The children’s day will consist of approximately one and a half hours of formal horseback riding lessons, followed by ground instruction in the riding ring. Following the ring instruction, the children will learn either stable management or arts and crafts. Stable management focuses on horse care and maintenance, grooming and horse anatomy. Riders will head indoors and use the two indoor rings during inclement weather. The day will end with a short swim in the estate’s pool. At the conclusion of the two week camp, there will be a BBQ and a show for the parents to come and see.
The beginner classes have an instructor to student ratio of one to four. The advanced beginner and intermediate rider classes have an instructor to student ratio of one to five. Each class has its own riding ring.
Camp hours are 9:00am until 1:00pm Monday through Friday.
Pick one of the weeks through the summer. Starting dates are: June 20, July 4, July 18, August 1, August 15. Children must be ages 6 and over.
