Founded in 1986, José Mateo Ballet Theatre’s company and school in Cambridge, MA have forged a new model for a ballet organization through innovative programming, artistic excellence, and extensive community outreach. Critically acclaimed, José Mateo Ballet Theatre is distinguished as the only ballet company in New England to produce an entire repertory by it’s own resident choreographer.

Love is in the air at José Mateo Ballet Theatre this spring! Cozy up with someone special and fall in love with Hearts Disguised, a concert of three original Mateo ballets.

Schubert Adagio (1991, Schubert) ignites the fiery passion of love too hot to last, while Courtly Lovers (2003, Haydn) takes a more playful approach to dating and romance. By the time the company completes the final ballet – Timeless Attractions (2010, Ginastera) – you’ll be breathless!

Be sure to bring someone special with you and sit at a table in our intimate Sanctuary Theatre, which features cabaret-style seating thrillingly close to the stage! You can toast to love with beer or wine available to purchase at the bar.
