He has written about cocktails for the New York Times since 2009 and is the author of the best-selling 2014 book “The Old-Fashioned: The World’s First Classic Cocktails” and a contributor to “The Essential New York Times Book of Cocktails." His comprehensive history of the modern cocktail revival, “A Proper Drink: How a Band of Bartenders Saved the Civilized Drinking World,” will be published by Ten Speed Press in September 2016. This salon for 12 participants would be an evening of cocktails and cocktail history, every drink coming with a story.
