Alexandra Strawbridge Maurer earned her Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine through Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She practices Traditional Chinese Medicine, with an emphasis on developing insight and mindfulness in the body. She has post-graduate specialization training for acupuncture in sports medicine.

Alexandra has been in practice with her husband, Dr. Richard Maurer, ND, at Coastal Natural Health in Maine from 1994-2012, and she founded the Community Acupuncture Clinic at Coastal Naturopathic Center in 2005.

Alexandra is currently in private practice in Freeport, and works at The Opportunity Alliance.

She reinforces disease prevention through appropriate individualized treatment using acupuncture, moxibustion and herbs with nutrition and lifestyle behavioral recommendations that nourish the body and mind.
