A handcrafted pin from Namse Bangdzo Bookstore, it has its origins in the dream flag created by the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. It is now recognised as a symbol of the Karma Kagyu lineage and in particular the yearly Kagyu Monlam. The actual name of the original flag is Namkhyen Gyaldar or "Victorious Flag of the Buddhas Wisdom". The 17th Gyalwa Karmapa said that this newly designed symbol is closely connected to the elements and "is first and foremost a symbol that we are not giving up on the earth".

Namse Bangdzo is the bookstore of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, the North American seat of His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa. Karma Triyana Dharmachakra represents the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. The bookstore provides dharma students and practitioners with Buddhist books, texts and practice materials. Profits from sales support the Seventeenth Karmapa's projects and activities.
