Attend any 3 to 4-day program in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at Upaya Zen Center founded by Roshi Joan Halifax.
This offering entitles one guest to attend any 3 to 4-day Upaya program from the 2017 schedule. Among the teachers scheduled for 2017 are: Roshi Joan Halifax; master calligrapher Kaz Tanahashi; neuroscientist Richie Davidson; acclaimed writer Natalie Goldberg; awarding-winning author and activist Lynne Twist; philosopher and author of numerous books on consciousness Evan Thompson, PhD; Roshi Norman Fischer founder of the Everyday Zen Foundation; and the National Best-selling Author of Buddhism without Beliefs, Stephen Batchelor.
Included in this offering are: tuition, all meals during the program, and dormitory shared lodging.
The center, nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, is a collection of traditional and new adobe buildings, combining Southwestern and Asian styles. It features kiva fireplaces, rough-hewn wood furniture, and captivating views of the surrounding mountains. Stone walkways meander through the native plants carpeting the campus, connecting private places with public meeting rooms, a communal kitchen, the meditation hall, and a labyrinth. Guests may explore the trails along the Santa Fe River and the nearby foothills. Meal service features a delicious organic vegetarian menu. The campus is equipped with wireless internet.
Upaya is a visionary Zen Buddhist center that focuses on the integration of practice and social action, and bringing wisdom and compassion together.
Special Instructions
Upgrades to double or single room would be at the cost of the guest, as well as any early arrival or late departure arrangements.
