Lotus and Lace Boutique: "Buddha Dharma Wheel" Necklace

Item Number: 387
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
The Dharma Wheel, one of the auspicious symbols of Buddhism, is captured in this necklace from Lotus and Lace Boutique.
Says Lotus and Lace owner and creator Lindsey, "The Buddha’s teachings, known as the “Dharma,” are likened to a wheel because it is a tool that allows one to steer his/her direction. The Buddha’s teachings give people the opportunity to guide their minds by putting the Dharma into practice. Additionally, the Buddha’s teachings are pervasive, extending out into the world in all directions, like the spokes of the wheel. Many Dharma wheels have eight spokes, symbolizing the Eightfold Path, but some wheels follow the older Indian tradition bearing many spokes. In this creative depiction, each spoke is represented as a meditative Buddha seated in the lotus position with his hands joined in his lap and the flame of enlightenment extending from the top of his head. The flames converge together in the center of the pendant."
Lotus and Lace Boutique owner Lindsay started making jewelry about ten years ago and especially enjoys incorporating exotic curios from her travels. She has lived in Thailand for the past few years. The warm culture and Buddhist ideals make it a welcoming and peaceful environment. Visit these links to follow her adventures:
