This print from atelier28 artist Andrea Cook is from a drawing etched on a copper plate, inked, and printed on paper using an etching press, a process that has changed little since Rembrandt’s time. See here for a demonstration. Every etching is inked by hand and as such is a unique and original artwork.

As a young child atelier28's Cook began making things as soon as she was able, beginning with origami which she learned from a Japanese neighbour. She later studied architecture at the University of Sheffield, UK, enjoying the marriage of the technical with the artistic. 

Details:

The etching measures 9 x 6 cm (3.5” x 2.4”) and comes with a mat (mount) that's the same color as the paper, measuring 13 x 18 cm (5" x 7").

Printed on Somerset Velvet handmade paper from St Cuthbert’s Mill in the UK using high quality professional etching ink. The paper has a soft cream color.

From an edition of 45, signed and numbered. A leaflet explaining the process will be included.
