Description

Receive this giclee print of a gouache and 22k gold original Green Tara painting from artist Laura Santi.

Tara is radiant and translucent, her beauty is a personification of her strength and passion to help others. She is gentle, loving compassion. She sits on a lotus that arose out of the lake of tears shed by the Buddha of Compassion as he looked down upon the sufferings of the world. That deity, Avalokitesvara, also known as Quanyin, sits quietly in his/her compassion, but Tara is compassion in action: she extends her foot down to the lotus below, ready to stand at a moment’s notice to begin her work.

Ms. Santi paints traditional style thangkas, the spiritual art of Buddhism that depicts the gods and goddesses of its various traditions, and the gods and goddesses as they appear in the Hindu spiritual traditions. She also practices Trika Yoga meditation and Chod healing practices from the Nyingma order of Buddhism.
