Therapeutic Micro and Nanotechnology Lab Tour

Description
What if you shrank 1,000 times smaller: as in, the size of an ant? Walking down the hall would take days! What if you shrank down another 1,000 times and became the size of a cell, crawling up an ant's leg? Moving just a couple of millimeters would take hours! Now imagine if you were 1,000 times smaller than the cell. You can see everything the cell is made of. This is the world of nanotechnology! Interested in learning more?
Come and tour the world-renowned, cutting-edge Therapeutic Micro and Nanotechnology Lab led by Nueva mom, Professor Tejal Desai. She will show you what her bioengineering team is doing, including developing new medicines, helping people regrow parts of their organs, developing a nanoporous biocapsule that releases medicine slowly, and designing a material that can be injected after a heart attack to improve healing. You'll go inside the clean room to have your go at building tiny structures structures so small that if you put one on top of a speck of dust, it would look like you had put it in the middle of an entire football stadium!
The tour is for eight children, ages 10 and up. Each child slot can include two parent chaperones.
8 children spots available (with maximum of 2 parents per child)
Date: Mutually Agreeable
