Frequently Asked Rental Questions

How many miles do I get with my rental?

All of our rental vehicles come with 150 free miles per day. Unless otherwise specified in the Rental Agreement, any miles in excess of the free miles will be charged at at rate of $.50 per mile. If you know in advance that you will be using more miles, it is best to discuss additional mileage plans prior to your rental.

Will my own insurance cover your vehicles?
The answer is yes. In all 50 states, if you carry full-coverage insurance (that means Liability, Comp, and Collision) your insurance will (in most cases) automatically carry over and cover you when you rent a Jeep from us. We do require all renters show proof of automobile insurance prior to your rental. Our agents can normally verify your policy within minutes.

If I have insurance, why bill me for minor damages?
Sometimes we come across some minor scuffs and scrapes on our Jeeps when they go out on rentals – sometimes customers scrape a wheel, scratch a front bumper, dent a door or event knock off a sideview mirror. These repairs are quick and relatively inexpensive to make and are billed from the security deposit in order to minimize the amount of time the car is off the road and limit insurance claims. Once your invoice has been settled, you can of course make a claim to your insurance company to be reimbursed for any charges.

What is the Security Deposit amount to rent your Jeeps?

Our deposits range from $750-$1500 depending on the vehicle, driver and what the vehicle is being used for. SoBe Jeeps will “Authorize” the deposit amount on your credit card just to verify you have the funds available. If no damage is found, your card will never actually be charged. If you are using a Debit Card, the authorization my take a few days to be removed by your bank. We find that renters using Debit Cards prefer us charging the deposit amount and simply refunding that amount when the vehicle is returned without damage. You may also leave the deposit amount in cash if you choose.

Can I drive your Jeeps out of the State?

We do encourage you to take our vehicles and explore all the sites and sounds of South Florida, we do have a driving area that is limited to Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties. Driving out of these counties could result in additional charges and fees as stated in the Rental Agreement.

Can I take the Jeep off-road?

No! Although these Jeeps are designed to handle almost any condition, the only places to utilize the Jeeps off-road require a permit and training class. If you are interested in 4X4 Tours we do offer guided tours of the Florida Everglades where you can sit back, relax and leave the driving to us

How old do I have to be to rent a SoBe Jeep?

In most all cases, the driver/renter must be 25-years old to drive our Jeeps.
