Description
George Chappell's second book of poetry displays several themes, such as relationships, recovery from addiction, his love of nature, and recognition of some literary and historical heroes. Because of his recent experience leading a creative writing course for veterans at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, Maine, some of their writings have been included. The title, When Souls Walk Away, reflects that connection. George says, "The course brought many of us together to share our experiences and common interest in writing. I am humbled by the experiences of many of the other veterans in my class and thank them for their contributions to this book.
