1.5L 2013 Ernest Vineyards, The Engineer Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast
The 2013 The Engineer Pinot Noir from the venerable Sonoma Coast is a small-production wine, normally only available to the private allocation list. It is a vibrant burgundy color of medium intensity. The nose reveals classic sour cherry, raspberry, plum, black peppercorn, dried mushroom and rose petal. Palate is rich, lush, broadly textured with overtones of stewed strawberries and mushrooms. Tannins are ripe and velvety. The finish is medium to long, firm and dry balancing earthy tones with cherry. Assertive while elegant, juicy and decadent.
