Description

Morgan 2013 G 17 Syrah, Monterey

Morgan G17 is a blend of 78% Syrah, 11% Tempranillo and 11% Grenache from northern and central Monterey County. This Rhone-style blend has a rich ruby red color, highlighted with purple edges. Coffee cake, blackberry, and cherry blossom aromas jump out of the glass. The wine is medium-bodied with soft tannins; it offers a mouthful of sweet spice, sage, and cherry pie flavors. Its weight and balance make it a perfect pairing with anything off the grill.

Burgess 2011 Estate Vineyard Syrah, Napa Valley

This estate Syrah is a wine made in small quantity; only 2,100 cases of this 2011 were produced. The grapes were sourced from two vineyards; 24% from Haymaker at 1200 feet with a steep slope facing east and 76% from Triere which is on the valley floor in the Oak Knoll District. The wine was aged in just 10% new American oak barrels. Bright aroma of blackberry, roses, raspberry, and bourbon vanilla. The gorgeous aroma is followed by a rich & lively palate of blackberry, boysenberry, strawberry, and cherry. Long cherry cider and raspberry finish.

Plus a corkscrew from Cardinale
