The 2013 Johnson Family Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is blended from three distinct regions within the Sonoma Coast Appellation. Sonoma Carneros Pinot offers bright red fruit, while West County (True Sonoma Coast) provides structure, acidity and a gorgeous savory side with a touch of fine tannin. Finally Russian River Valley adds a darker fruit, with hints of cola nut, cinnamon and nutmeg. The three sub-regions marry to create a complete wine that showcase the many faces of Sonoma Coast Pinot—vibrant fruit, bracing acidity, and subtle earthy flavors that remain distinctly Californian, yet true to Pinot’s elegance and Burgundian roots.
