Phil Brown has been the editor of the Adirondack Explorer news magazine since 1999.  He is the author of the guidebooks Adirondack Paddling: 60 Great Flatwater Adventures (published in collaboration with ADK), 12 Short Hikes Near Lake Placid, 12 Short Hikes Near Old Forge and 12 Short Hikes Near Keene Valley (with Tom Woodman).  He also is the editor of Bob Marshall in the Adirondacks, a collection of the Adirondack writings of the first Forty-Sixer.  Phil likes to backcountry ski, rock climb, canoe, and mountain bike (not all at once.)
