Description
Carol Walker resides in Lakewood, CO with an in home studio. She is inspired to draw and paint from God's many "beautiful creations".
Her art started by painting with mud in her dad's implement shed, on a farm in Missouri. As a child she experienced and eye injury that nearly blinded her. The corneal specialist tells her that depth perception is something she cannot have. However, her mind dictates otherwise and she continues to baffle her eye specialist. It appears that the depth of art is more accurately measured by the depth of the human soul.
Carol is a busy artist with a life-long passion to draw what she sees and to share her insight with others. She is a member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, Denver Art Student League and the Mountainside Art Guild in Lakewood. She displays her artwork in various exhibits around Colorado, including the Summer Art Market at the Art Student League of Denver (ASLD). Her artwork can be seen by appointment for local residents or on her website: www.ArtisticEndeavors.org.
Using acrylic paint I began to paint "Colorado Views", a mountain scene without concern for the face underneath. I like how a landscape can contour around eyes, a nose and a mouth. I added a bear into the scenery. This idea for the Denver Mask Project came from living and painting in the Colorado Mountains for over 20 years. It seemed to be a natural fit for the face underneath. Carol Walker, 303-877-8204. Email: oneheartbeat@yahoo.com.
