Her earrings include artifacts from plants, sea creatures, and metals, and suggest use by mankind. The nautilus shell tattoo on her forehead is for the Golden Mean or The Spiral of Life. We use the Greek letter Pi in architecture. Phi is The Greek symbol for The Golden Mean, and Lambda is a mathematical reference for musical scales and harmony. The line of numbers across Mother Earth’s nose is the Fibonacci Series. Five small tattoos are old symbols signifying the alchemical “Elements” Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Aether until Plato rendered the “elements” as geometric solids. Now they are known as Tetrahedrons, Hexahedrons (or cubes), Octahedrons, Dodecahedrons and Icosahedrons. The eyes of Mother Earth remind us that from Earth to the farthest reaches of space our universe is built on the same mathematical principles.
