Diane J Mayer is a Denver artist inspired by the beauty and power of nature found in the Rocky Mountain region and at the NJ shore. She paints mostly abstract landscapes and non-representational abstracts in oil and acrylic most recently painting on copper and studying watercolor.  She is a member of the Colorado Chapter of Women's Caucus for Art and the Pineshores Art Association in NJ. 

My mask depicts a rock cairn with Mt Princeton in the background. A cairn is human-made and often functions as a signpost or trail marker and contrasts with the landscape made by nature. There is no discernible path but I wanted this mask to transport the viewer right to a trailhead into mountains for that special feeling that being in the wilderness evokes.
