Susan Kacik began studying and creating art in Japan in 1976.  She continued her studies and creations to the present day.  Although her art career began as a traditional representational painter, her work now is largely abstract using collage and mixed water media.

This mask, "Silence is Golden" came spontaneously from her imagination, emotions and feelings which guided her to final stage of the mask project.  Since the approach to the work is non-representational, the interpretation of the design is left to the imagination of the viewer.
