Award winning artist Evette Goldstein has been painting for the Mask Project since 2002. The masks she creates reflect her current series of abstract paintings. This year she has titled her series “Folie à Deux’ ~ a French psychiatric term meaning ‘delusional ideas shared by two closely related individuals’ ~ in the case of her abstract paintings, the artist and the viewer.

‘Midnight Chimera’ (fantasy, dream) is an abstract expressionist painting representing the fantasy of the dreams we all have and they are just out of reach ~ thus the dream-like quality of this mask.
