Description

Jamie Zerr-Lockwood is a local artist, native to Colorado. Jamie is currently involved in the Eye for Art Program run by the City of Brighton. She was also on the planning committee for the New Art in the Park Festival held in Brighton the summer of 2016. She is a stay-at-home mom of two children.

Jamie has always loved painting. She has become even more involved since her mom's passing in 2011. Painting has been her way of dealing with the loss. Says Jamie: "I am inspired by nature and can let my imagination take me to beautiful places or back to a happy memory. Acrylic paint is my medium of choice. The versatility of the colors allows the creation of soft moments or bright textured subjects. My wish is to someday open a small gallery.

The mask I painted is dedicated to my mother who I lost to pancreatic cancer in 2011. Purple is the color of the pancreatic cancer hope ribbon. I like to remember my mother as a beautiful butterfly flying free….free from cancer, looking down on me.
