Louise Sliman is a Colorado artist and this is her second time creating a mask for The Mask Project. Louise was inspired by her late friend, Dwight, who passed peacefully in the care of Denver Hospice. This mask is inspired by a combination of African traditional designs from where he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and Japanese Kabuki for the years he lived in Japan.
