Description
Diana Sava, a native Romanian, resides in Littleton, Colorado. She has recently discovered the joy of drawing and painting, both landscapes and portraits. She takes classes with wonderful teachers/artists at Ken Caryl Ranch, Foothills Art Center and Lakewood Cultural Center.
The mask intends to remind us about the power of a direct look in the eyes and a smile. They can be invigorating, they can bring joy, light and even healing. The painting represents a face reflected in a mirror. When we look and smile at others, in some way we look and smile at ourselves. The world is our reflection. The idea of a mask itself may also suggest that we just put on a human form temporarily to have a rich and miraculous experience. So we may wonder: Who is smiling? Who is looking?
