Philip Newsom is a painter and illustrator from Colorado.  The second son of two artists, he received a BFA in illustration from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California in 2000 and moved back to Colorado a year later. Since then he has painted many commissioned book and magazine illustrations, animal portraits, murals, landscapes and graphic designs. His illustration work is mostly in the natural history field,  while his fine-art painting includes surrealism and abstraction as well as realism. He is seeking mural work in the Denver area.
