Description

Patty Carberry has lived in Colorado most of her life and creates oil paintings that are inspired by her surroundings of mountain vistas, streams and canyons. She has a background in Engineering and has worked on creating a number of construction plans for bridges and structures. Her artistic style is best described as a meeting of science and art. Her eye for detail and analyzing spatial relationships of form give her compositions a stunning realistic quality. To create a structure the most important tool is math. To create a painting the most important tool is color. Her paintings achieve a realistic representation of a scene by blending colors on both the pallet and canvas.

Patty Carberry created a mask titled “Contemporary Beauty” after hearing a description of what is considered beauty in 2016. Through the media we are fed images of women whose faces are contoured with makeup then airbrushed and photoshopped. Patty has depicted the art of contemporary beauty and named her Lisa. Dear Lisa, don’t forget to blend!
