Naomi Haverland is a painter living in Denver, Colorado. Born in 1981, she is a native to the state. She enjoys painting and making crafts with her sweet children and dogs. She specializes in realism and portraiture, focusing on unique human facial expressions. Her work can often be found in local galleries and restaurants around Denver.  

I wanted this mask to be whimsical and fun, inviting the viewers imagination to invent their own story for the character they see. When I finished painting the helmet, I thought that it would be even more magical if it had light up antennas, and I couldn't let go of that idea even though I was not competent to make it happen. I had to enlist the help of my electrical engineer father to figure out what components I needed to buy, and it was surprisingly complicated (for an artist at least), but I managed to pull it off. I envision the mask being an imaginative night light in a kids' room, or just a fanciful addition to the home of anyone who appreciates a playful piece of art.
