Meagan Andersen is a painter and native of Colorado who grew up in Westminster.  She graduated in 2015 from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Art Therapy.  Meagan has always been fascinated by the beauty of the peacock and the symbolism they represent.  Besides embodying the true meaning of beauty, that is to say that beauty is not only an external thing but comes from within, peacocks also represent integrity, guidance, protection, holiness, grace, and dignity.  Perhaps the quality that Meagan has identified with the most is the power of resurrection, the power to rise from the ashes, stronger and more confident than before.  Through many hardships in her life, Meagan looked to the peacock for guidance.  The peacock is an incredibly powerful spiritual ally and by creating this mask, Meagan hopes to bring that power to its possessor.
