Originally from Canada, Janice Wright is a landscape painter who currently resides in Arvada, Colorado. An Alberta College of Art graduate, Wright worked as a graphic designer for over fifteen years. A one year stint in Europe provided her the opportunity to see paintings that previously she had only seen in art history books. Profoundly moved by the experience, she began to paint in earnest with her return home. Influenced by the dynamic brush strokes of Van Gogh, and the American Expressionists Franz Kline and Robert Motherwell, she works in acrylic. An avid hiker and photographer, she draws upon the landscape around her for subject matter and inspiration.

Janice has chosen to paint her vision of Colorado on her mask, showcasing its mountain ranges and large open skies.
