Description

My first watercolor was painted as a student studying architecture. In the days before computers (1960s) architects had to draw and paint, and had to take 5 semesters of art, mainly pen, ink, and watercolor. Since college, I painted sporadically for the next 40+ years and more intensively for the past 10 years. I love painting land/water/cityscapes, plein aire when possible, but also enjoy figurative and portraiture. My style may be described as "fast and loose" I try to complete a painting in one sitting, using mostly large brushes. Among the internationally known artist with which I have studied are Charles Reid, Alvaro Castagnet, and Mel Stabin. I also studied with several Colorado artist including Jim Pedersen, Raleigh Kinney, Dennis Pendleton and Roger Mordhorst.
