About the Mask Artist: Rachel Rosen, 21 years old, is recovering from an eating disorder. At some point in most people's lives they experience living behind a mask whether they realize it or not. But what's under the mask? This mask represents the shedding of the skin, diversion from the norm, pealing off the mask, and not being afraid to be yourself. It's about reaching inside yourself to access the soul. It's the process of grief and loss, the death of a rose, and the new life of a budding rose. Where there is pain there is beauty, and where there is beauty there is pain.
