Enjoy a private chef dinner of four (4) courses for up to eight (8) people.
Chef Robert Faust will come to the location of your choosing to prepare the meal. Please make sure the location has a proper kitchen. He will work with you prior to the event to design a menu.
Please note that the winner must supply their own beverages.
About the chef:
I am a born and raised New Orleanian who has spent the last 20 years in the restaurant business. I grew up with Tulane University as my backyard. I found a love for food through my dad who “forced” me to watch Julia Child, the Galloping Gourmet, Jacques Pepin, and every cooking show that was before the advent of the Food Network. I started playing around in the kitchen as soon as I was allowed around hot and sharp things. I never thought it would actually lead to a career but I simply enjoyed doing it. It was great to learn how to properly run a catering operation. Wanting to get into management I took a job with McAlister’s as they were opening in New Orleans. I managed the first location on Airline and went on to be General Manager of both the Harrah’s location as well as the uptown location. In between stints at McAlister’s I worked as a server at Ralph’s on The Park. I wanted to be in fine dining and see how one of the great restauranteurs of New Orleans ran his business. I quickly realized that I enjoyed fine dining but also that I wanted to get back in the kitchen. I began working for Brian Landry as Sous Chef at Galatoire’s.
I cooked at Bayona for 2 years before also signing on to be a manager at her then new Mondo in Lakeview. I worked at Mondo running the front of the house for 2 and half years and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is no experience as exhilarating as opening a new restaurant. It is a stressful and chaotic experience that I thrive in. After Mondo I had the opportunity to be a personal chef.
I have worked every position that exist in a restaurant and think that the well-rounded view I have of the restaurant operation is extremely beneficial. -Robert Faust
