Melanie Fawer teaches yoga the way she was taught. Each student is given attention in a group setting. Ashtanga yoga focuses on alignment and breathing. There is no better yoga for cultivating strength, flexibility and inner peace.
In the West, Ashtanga yoga is one of only two forms of pure yoga that come from Indian origins, reflecting the teachings of the great yogi T. Krishnamacharya and his student Sri K. Pattahbi Jois, the Father of Ashtanga yoga. Melanie traveled for 15 years to Mysore, India to study at the feet of Pattahbi Jois, her great and beloved guru.
As a gifted teacher in her own right, Melanie has displayed a unique natural ability to teach the Ashtanga practices. Many students have commented on Melanie’s rare gift of transmitting Pattahbi Jois’ teachings and adjustments, which they’ve experienced firsthand.
Melanie’s mission is to remain true to the original sources of Asthanga yoga. This philosophy guides everything she does in her teaching and her own practice
