Artist Statement:  My artwork is often inspired by my students! I try to find fun and whimsy in the mundane. This painting came to be when I noticed that the cod's barbel almost looked like some strange critter's tail.

Artist Biography:  Mary Herchenhahn teaches visual arts at the Coffin and Gerry schools in Marblehead. She is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and Boston University. She can often be found riding her bicycle around the beautiful North Shore.
