Description
This one-of-a-kind hand made quilt was hand crafted by St. Michael's Church member and well known quilt maker who has been featured in many quilter magazines. Jo Moury's work has been pictured on the covers of Quilt Maker and Quilt Pattern Magazine. She has also been listed multiple times in Quilt Makers' "One Hundred Blocks from America's Top Designers".
This quilt is a "Primrose Garden" design that incorporates a floral theme with bright pastel colors to represent the renewal of spring. The hand appliqued baske, intertwined ribbon and flower border are used to emphasize this theme. The background quilting is a soft swirl radiating design, used to depict warm spring sunshine. The pink triangle border is quilted in an original motif called "Emerging Seedlings" while the outer checkboard border is quilted in a design Jo calls "Planted Seeds." The middle borders feature a feather quilting design and are embellished with a contrasting thread that once again speaks to the re-awakening associated with this time of year.
This quilt was actually photographed for and published in The Quilt Pattern Magazine, May 2011.
