Grades Summer Program

The Grades Summer Program is led by our talented Extended Day staff and designed for children ages 7 to 12 (1st – 6th grade).

Sessions/Hours:

Grades summer sessions are offered for three weeks in June: June 6-10, June 13-17, and June 20-24, 2016.  Families may sign up for 1, 2 or all 3 weeks. Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. For more information, including rates and FAQs, please click here.

Program Schedule:

Each week will be centered around a unique art project in the morning and organized movement and games in the afternoon, and will culminate in a special Friday field trip.

Week 1: June 6-10
Art Project: Building a Cigar Box Guitar
Games and Movement: Soccer
Field Trip: Minneapolis Institute of Art

Week 2: June 13-17
Art Project: Printmaking
Games and Movement: Ultimate Frisbee
Field Trip: Highpoint Center for Printmaking

Week 3: June 20-24
Art Project: Constructing a Life-Size Paper Mache Sculpture
Games and Movement: Touch Football
Field Trip: Walker Art Center/Sculpture Garden
