CLWS Class Creations- 8th Grade Fairbault Woolen Mill Quilt

Item Number: 219
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Ms Yospin and her 8th grade class had the chance to tour the Faribault Woolen Mill, where beautiful woolen blankets are woven.
The mill donated a white blanket remnant which we cut up into squares. The students then dyed the pieces in an indigo vat and madder, and orange red plant dye from a root. They used clamping and resist techniques to get patterns.
With the aid of Ms. Yospin and several parents, the kids stitched and embellished the pieces before they were sewn together to create these beautiful wall hangings.
This is a Live Event Item.
