Elinor Carucci is a New York based photographer with an international reputation for her relentlessly intimate photographs. She has had solo shows at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, as well as at galleries in New York and London.

Diary of a Dancer concentrates on a period of several years when Carucci performed as a professional Middle Eastern dancer, acting as the hired entertainment for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs around the five boroughs of New York.
