UFO Parasail is a company that started on Maui in 1985, bringing new and exciting ocean experiences to the island’s many visitors. The company is owned and operated by Greg and Rich VanderLaan, both graduates of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and both holding BS degrees in Nautical Engineering and U.S. Coast Guard licenses. Today UFO Parasail/UFO Adventures operate 5 boats on Maui and also has operations on the Big Island, and on New Zealand’s Bay of Islands.

Special Instructions
Maui location is closed for the humpback whale season from December 15th through May 15th every year. Kona location is open year round.
The certificate does not have black out dates.
- Minimum weight to fly alone is 130 lbs. Maximum weight to fly alone, tandem, or triple is 450 lbs.
- Weight restrictions may b increased or decreased by the captain, depending on wind or sea condition at time of flight.
- Participants must be able to walk across the pier and down a few steps on to the boat with minimal or no assistance. The boats are hot wheelchair accessible.
