Sokol New York (gem of the upper east side), a Unit of the American Sokol Organization, was founded in 1867. The heart of the organization is their historic building, located on the Upper East Side, where they offer gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do, ballet, basketball, volleyball and folk dance for various age groups.

Sokol New York is a not-for-profit organization. Their goal is to guide  members through life, from early youth to maturity, in the areas of physical health, citizenship and continued self-improvement. This goal is pursued through  physical fitness programs as well as various cultural and social activities.
