A certificate for 1 initial diagnostic. The Initial Diagnostic certificates can be used for any test or subject diagnostic. Our diagnostics allow us to see a child's strengths and weaknesses in the areas they wish to prepare for. We prepare children ages 3.5 to 16 currently at Bright Kids.

Diagnostics are given to determine a student’s current level of performance in regards to a number of cognitive and academic skills. The scores from these exams provide a baseline that our staff uses to plan each student’s individualized tutoring curriculum.

During a diagnostic, students work through test questions similar to the actual exams. The diagnostics are conducted in a 1-on-1 setting with a proctor. They can take place at one of our New York City offices or at the student’s home.

The proctor:

• Monitors the child’s testing experience


• Notes any test strategies the child should employ in a future testing setting (such as pacing, process of elimination, etc.).

Once the diagnostic has been completed, parents will receive a score report which is posted to the student’s portal page, along with recommendations for tutoring.
