"The Arthur family's four-month cruise in the South Pacific was smooth sailing... until the GPS stopped working and the radio went silent. Almost capsized in a late night, near-collision at sea, questions raced through Zach Arthur's mind as he replayed the series of events that had recently occurred. Mainly, why would a U.S. aircraft carrier try to run them over?* Something didn't feel right... and it wasn't. The Arthurs soon found that life as they knew it would never be "normal" again. The whole world had gone mad, and one primary questioned remained: Would they ever find safe harbor again?"

REVIEWS:
Action-packed, page turner, with a Sailing education twist!,

This review is from: Seeking Safe Harbor: Suddenly Everything Changed (Paperback)
I bought this book at a local "Self-reliance Expo" -
Seeking Safe Harbor: Suddenly Everything Changed
EDIT: I just bought the Kindle edition, too, so I can read it again!
"As the table person told me (not the author) - "This isn't hardcore prepper / survivalist, but more dystopian sea-adventure." Probably the most honest description he could have given, except he failed to mention "action-packed, page turner" to it! I started reading it on the way home (don't worry - the hubby was driving!) and literally didn't put it down until I was finished the next day.
I've read a couple of other post-apocalyptic books, some quite good, but the writing usually isn't so... smooth (that's the best description I can think of). And yet there are several twists and turns I didn't see coming. As well, the author clearly has a lot of Sailing and nautical experience. It took me half the book to realize that there was a LOT of description and that I had even learned a few things. Not sailing to Fiji anytime soon, but it's a good secondary source for some application-type nautical goodness.
Final comment: This would be an excellent book for as young as 12-13 yrs old."
