MATERIALS

Kingman Turquoise
Josephene prided herself on the quality of her turquoise and mined most of her stones herself in the 1970s, when the Arizona mines were still open to "rockhounds." The terms "Kingman" or "high blue" refer to the blue color usually displayed in this stone.

Picture Jasper
Jasper comes from the Greek word, iaspis, which means "spotted stone." A form of microcrystalline quartz, jasper is thought to have the power to drive away evil spirits and gives a person courage.

Mother of Pearl
MOP is the common name for this iridescent nacre, secreted by oysters, abalone, and other mollusks and deposited inside their shells and is said to stimulate intuition, sensitivity, imagination, and adaptability and help with clarity in decision making.

Oxidized Silver
Oxidation is a chemical reaction between the metal surface and oxygen that changes the appearance of the silver permanently to a burnished gray.

Special Instructions

Turquoise is the birthstone of December and is thought to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness.
