Description
Michael David Winery of Lodi, CA has donated a bottle of their 2012 Earthquake Cabernet Sauvignon, and a certificate for Complimentary Reserve Tasting for Four.
Winemaker's Notes
This vintage is brilliant deep purple clear out to the rim. It is juicy and fruit forward with plenty of structure. Black cherry compote predominates, but this bottle is infused with hints of cocoa. Consistent with Earthquake's signature style, it is full-bodied, but sleek as silk. Like all of our wines, it finishes smooth with mild tannins, and a slight high note on the finish.
Critical Acclaim
RP90
The Wine Advocate - "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Earthquake is another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi, but with a much smaller production of 31,000 cases. Aged in French oak, it reveals more charcoal and smoky barbecue notes intermixed with the tell-tale hallmark of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, blackcurrant fruit, as well as tobacco leaf and licorice characteristics. With surprising complexity, this dense, medium to full-bodied, rich Cabernet Sauvignon should keep for 5-7 years. It tastes like it should cost 3 to 4 times the price."
