This poster is approximately 29" x 21" and is unframed. The poster was printed in France (1983) by Mourlot. The item being auctioned is a photo of the poster commemorating Bernard Cathelin's 25th anniversary exhibition at David Findlay Galleries, New York (1958).
Critically acclaimed French artist Bernard Cathelin (May 20, 1919 - April 17, 2004), is world-famous for his oil paintings and lithographs with a subtle richness of texture and color. The three favorite themes in Cathelin's work are bouquets, landscapes, and portraits of women. His work has been featured in over 50 exhibitions worldwide.
Printing: Founded in 1852, the Atelier Mourlot, was a lithographic printing studio located in Paris, France. During the 20th century, a group of celebrated artists, including Calder, Chagall, Dufy, Léger, Matisse, Miró, and Picasso rediscovered the largely undeveloped art form of lithography thanks to the Atelier Mourlot.
