“I love the way a piece looks after the grout is cleared off. It makes everything come together. It is amazing because sometimes I don’t truly know what the piece will really turn out like until then. The more texture the better and the more abstract & unusual it is the more appealing it is to me. I don’t want to do what everyone else has done so I make a lot of my own paper-backed tiles and use a lot of found objects. Some of my favorite materials are stained glass, ceramic tile, polymer clay and I love trying new materials in my art such as jewelry, rocks, broken glass, etc. I am a really big fan of up-cycling and if a specific object is practical and will add to the piece, I will use it.”
