Tesserae: Stained glass and fused glass

“2017 is the Year of the Fire Rooster. People born in a year of the Rooster are observant, hardworking, resourceful, courageous, talented, and are very confident in themselves. I am born in a Fire Rooster year, and this piece celebrates the Year of the Rooster. The rooster design is adapted from a Chinese paper cut. The rooster, blossoms and clouds are made from fused glass. The piece is a departure from my usual practice of using lots of blues, which is my favorite color. If you look closely, you can see a hint of blue and the silver lining in the clouds.”
